well, congratulations for managing to pull out the shots you did get then. Even with the grain the 6400 speed film does add a certain character to the photos.

hell no, it's that cheapo wine that tastes like vinegar! they dare calling it "chateau savignon", when it's obvious it comes from those fields in between a chemical plant, the highway, mexico smog city and some fields where pot is grown...

ok, it doesn't actually taste all that bad, but it does give you a headache in the morning.. : -)

I recognize that, you proably also know the wine that's sold in these cardboard boxes with aluminium-ish bags in them. I'd rather take a dive in the Tsjernobyl reactor core than drink a sip from that toxic waste. Once I visit you we'll have a couple of glasses of fine scotch and play a game of poker. Its funny, cause when I read the title of this journal on my messages page, I knew thats what this was gonna be about.

I understand what you're saying here.. people that just because they are famous on deviantart get 4000 views a day, even if their photos are horrible. But when it comes down to it and they dont get jack published and deviantart is their life, then, well in reality you've done better.

Deviantart is so flooded with people who belong on flickr or myspace or photobucket. Everyone with a cheap kodak family point and shoot thinks they are a photographer. But with such a public site, this is unavoidable. I guess you just kinda get what you get with deviantart. I try to find good photographers here, and hope for some real feedback on photos. With such a subjective medium as art, it would be impossible to hold criteria for who is allowed on this site or not.

I think really, as time progressess and more people join, the site will eventually be useless to real art, because there will just be too many people, it will be too hard to be recognized with so many submissions.

An online portfolio is a good idea, my friend and I are making a site for a small business we are trying to start.

i don't really have a problem with others getting thousands of pageviews, even if their work sucks. that's just how DA works and i'm afraid it won't get any better. i don't need thousands of pageviews, or a lot of fav's, or a lot of "nice shot" comments.. this isn't about my photography or deviantart as a whole, it's just about me submitting to deviantart - i wonder if it's really worth my time if something i submit gets less than ten views?

but, sorry for the ranting.

p.s. i don't know how computer literate you are, but if you need help with your site, i can do design/html/css etc.

I understand what you're saying, I've read a lot of interesting articles on this subject from other websites.

Anyway, you can always resort to writing shitty emo poems and making a trizillion stock shots of yourself in various emo/semi-erotic poses. That'll get you pageviews =/
