Liviu and George. Two homeless kids in Brasov, Romania.

All my previous descriptions were about diseases, poverty and hunger. Hardly a surprise - one cannot ignore it. Misery is an integral part of their lives. But there is also brotherhood, comradery and hope.

For a better life. For a better world.

Pictures for editorial use and for the NGO "Helping Hands". Please contact me if you would like to make a donation to this NGO. They offer hot soup, soap, mental and dental assistance and some clothes to the kids. Now they are gathering funds to build a permanent shelter for the homeless kids in Brasov.

A very interesting shot. He's smiling and that's a good thing. I'm from Romania and every day i see on streets people like this. In my opinion we're a beautiful country , but there are some that get us a very bad image. And please don't make the mistake to say that a romanian = a gypsy. Because it's wrong and it's not true.
And this photo doesn't represent the true Romania. You can see this picture EVEN in Bronx
NY City.

May I feature your work in my journal? :)

With these series you make people think this is the real Romania. :|

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked for His forgiveness.. ([link])

i don't think Romania is the only country that has this problem.

You filmed them and you managed to get away with your camera. You must have had some protection or maybe they were just too weak, otherwise you would have said bye bye to your camera

now that's one hell of an opinion about your country ! You know, not all people (and hear i'm talking about gypsies) are like that, but you wouldn't know that as you probably don't even give a shit about them. That's the attitude, dude ! :|

Just to clarify things, that is not my opinion about MY COUNTRY, that is my opinion about the gypsies in my country. Trust me, you don't know them..you haven't really seen how they are. I love my country and, trust me, if you would not how much SHAME the gypsies bring to Romania by stealing/killing in other countries (recently, there was a scandal in Italy regarding a Romanian GYPSY who killed a woman) you wouldn't like them either. The comment was, in no way, a bad comment about you or my country ..sorry if it seemed so

But did you ever think about the gypsies children? About how they do not choose their way of living? It's not their fault they end up just some thieves and no-good people. Anyway, I am very familiar with their situation in Romania because I live there :). I, too have the feeling of sticking tight to my bag when I come near gypsies. But what can we do? we can't just take them on a field and shoot them, can we?
